Banks's modeling competition return to The CW on Wednesday, September 17 for its 17th cycle, which features a group of returning fan favorite contestants hoping to be second-tim lucky and clinch the prize. Speaking to Access Hollywood at the Do Something Awards, she said: "I've been editing shows right now and I' like, 'Oh my gosh'. As a producer, I know that something is interesting or compelling when I tear up watching scene in the edit bay. "I have teared up every single episode. Tears don't necessarily mea sad. It can mean sad or 'wow, that's hilarious and this is good', it can mea 'God, that fight was so visceral and I feel it'. There's a lot of that." Watch a promo for America's Next To Model below. Banks also revealed that she had bee expecting the returning models to be "jaded" because they had been through the process before, but foun it "refreshing" that they were still "vulnerable" and had a "desire to wi and please". Among the prizes on offer this cycle are a spread in Vogue Italia, a $100,000 contract with CoverGirl cosmetics, a campaign with Express, and the opportunity to serve as a guest correspondent on Extra.
Guest judges this cycle will include Nicki Minaj, Kathy Griffin, La Toya Jackson, Ashlee Simpson, model and actor Tyson Beckford, former The Hill star Kristin Cavallari, The Game, model Coco Rocha, CSI creator and produce Anthony Zuiker, and fashion photographer Nikos Papadopoulos. America's Next Top Model has named the former contestants who will retur to compete in the upcoming all-star cycle. Fan favorites will return to the CW competition in September for a secon chance at winning the prizes, including a coveted spread in Vogue Italia. Other prizes on offer for the cycle 17 winner are a guest correspondent rol with Extra, a contract with CoverGirl cosmetics and an Express fashion campaign. Guest judges this cycle include Nicki Minaj, Kathy Griffin, LaToya Jackson, Ashlee Simpson, model and actor Tyson Beckford, former The Hills star Kristin Cavallari, The Game, model Coc Rocha, CSI creator and producer Anthony Zuiker, and fashion photographer Nikos Papadopoulos. Banks, who will return as host and judge, recently teased that the new cycle will be "crazy", telling Good Morning America: "I have girls from cycle one until now - the fan favorites I am editing the show right now and i is crazy. "They are all these type-A personalities because you are getting the best of the best and they are effervescent and they pop." America's Next Top Model premieres Wednesday, September 14 at 9pm ET on The CW.
Watch your back and and your front because the claws are sure to come out (and be sharpened) for the first ever America’s Next Top Model All- Stars season that is guaranteed to be finger wagging F-F-F-Fierce darling. Fourteen former losers return to face the catwalk and the cattiness for Cycle 17 of Tyra Banks’ model reality competition and the stakes have never been higher. Up for grabs is a “career- launching prize package:” a campaign with the Express fashion brand, a chance to be a guest correspondent on Extra, a fashion spread in Vogue Italia and a $100,000 contract with CoverGirl cosmetics. Unfortunately this isn’t American Idol and the public will not choose the winner. As always Ty-Ty Baby will lead the panel of judges which includes influential fashion editor André Leon Talley, photographer Nigel Barker and celebrity guest judges Nicki Minaj, comedienne Kathy Griffin, Tyson Beckford , reality star Kristin Cavallari, rapper Game, model Coco Rocha, CSI creator Anthony Zuiker, photographer Nikos Papadopoulos, LaToya Jackson and singer Ashlee Simpson . But wait, no season would be complete without Mr & Ms. J. Creative director Jay Manuel and runway trainer Miss J. Alexander will be all up in the fashion house. So, are you ready for a super-smized edition of ANTM? Who do you think has what it takes to be on top? Find out a little bit more about the contestants below (in order of the appearance of photos above). America’s Next Top Model premieres Wednesday, September 14 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) on The CW.
Well, Top Model fans, we’re still a week and a half away from opening up the specially wrapped present crazy aunt Tyra left us, which is sure to feature more than enough hot mess antics, ridiculous delusions, and frustrating decisions. The present, you ask? America’s Next Top Model: All-Stars. Ahead of the show’s premiere on September 14th, I thought we could channel all the excitement and anticipation for the fireworks that are sure to come with a little early pontificating. Before us, we have 14 models of various capabilities and experience, but there can be only one to take the title and with it, the prizes, which include a spread in Italian Vogue and the chance to be a guest correspondent for Extra. Just which of these women do you think will come out on top? At this stage in the game, I think I’ll be putting my money on…
Sheena from Cycle 11. Let me explain. As interesting a decision as it would be, I simply don’t see the show picking one of the girls from the first four americas next top model seasons. None are old by any stretch of the imagination, but springboarding a model in her 30s wouldn’t jive well with the show’s new high fashion intentions, so Shannon, Camille, and Brittany will likely be out. I think Lisa’s media reputation (her rap career, her time in rehab, her comments about the show) will keep her from taking the title, as will Bianca’s past altercation with Nikki Blonsky. Laura’s still too short to be a high fashion model (and you know Tyra is looking for an excuse to ride her about her accent), Alexandria’s too new, and Bre’s reputation on the show may be too much to overcome. We’re down to Dominique, Isis, Kayla, Sheena, Angelea, and Allison. You can probably discount Allison because as good as she may be in terms of high fashion, the girl who wins has to be able to go from Italian Vogue to Express to reporting and I don’t know if she can fill that role. Angelea could have a Jaslene-like turn around and come out of the gate with the same fire she did last time (but with a little more polish), but I just don’t see that happening. Dominique previously appeared on (and won) The Tyra Show‘s Modelville, accuring a Carol’s Daughter endorsement in the process, so maybe Tyra will see that she’d had her chances and things just haven’t worked out. Plus, Dominique may come to the show a little defeated and insecure, which will be picked apart until she leaves.
I struggled with what to think about Isis. She didn’t stay long on her first go-around, but she had a bit of talent and seemed to be someone who could blossom in the right environment. She’s been all over Tyra’s talk show with talk of her surgeries (she would be experienced enough in front of camera to do Extra), so maybe time has made her more comfortable with her body and her self, a true coup in the Top Model world. I just can’t see someone finishing so low in their respective season coming out and taking home a win, but stranger things have happened on reality TV. For now, though, I think Isis will make a decent run before bowing out. This leaves Kayla and Sheena.
The cast of America’s Next Top Model: All-Stars may have leaked some time ago, only to be confirmed today, but two big pieces of information were revealed about what may be the craziest cycle in the show’s history. The prize package for the show, which has undergone very slight alterations in recent years, has been changed once again. The winner of the show will still have a special spread in Vogue Italia and a contract with Covergirl Cosmetics, but new this year is an Express fashion campaign and a chance to become a correspondent on Extra. Last cycle, the other prizes were a contract with IMG Models and a cover of Beauty in Vogue. The guest judges for this cycle include two rappers (Nicki Minaj, Game), a comedienne (Kathy Griffin), two singers (Ashlee Simpson, LaToya Jackson), a TV personality (Kristin Cavallari), the creator of CSI (Anthony Zuiker), and three “names” in the fashion industry (Nikos Papadopolous, Coco Rocha, Tyson Beckford). The core judging panel (Tyra, Andre, Nigel) will remain the same, as will the J’s in their respective fields. It’s interesting to see that the prize package is a mix of high fashion (Vogue Italia) and more commercial endeavors (Extra, Express), since the show has made a push toward the former in the more recent few cycles. It’s unclear what type of model the show will be going after this cycle, but considering that some of the contestants are shorter (Laura) or older (Camille) than the average high fashion model, I think the emphasis might be back on the commercial girls this time. Whatever the case may be, a lot of former Top Model contestants go on to do work more similar to the Extra/Express side of the fashion world than walk the catwalk in couture, so the show may just be managing expectations a little this cycle. The 17th cycle of America’s Next Top Model will premiere on Wednesday, September 14th at 9:00 on The CW. What do you think about the slightly altered prize package and new guest judges? Who do you think is the early favorite to take home the title this cycle? If you’ve stopped watching Top Model at some point, does the idea of an all-star season make you want to jump back in?
The catwalks are set and the cameras are ready for a new cycle of America’s Next Top Model.
Tyra Banks ‘ hit show will soon be starting cycle 17 (Wow!), and to spice things up a bit, there’s a twist on this season: the girls are all all-stars from the previous 16 cycles! One of the returning models will be Dominique from Cycle 10. She may have placed fourth back then, but she’s now excited to be back and try to win the whole thing. Check out her ANTM interview above! Joining Dominique for this season will be Isis, who place 10th during Cycle 11. While Dominique shows her excitement for the all-star cycle, Isis shares that she is returning more confident than ever. Check out what she’s been up to in the video below! America’s Next Top Model will premiere on Wednesday, September 14 at 9 PM ET on The CW. Will you be watching?
Heads up, readers: All top models are not created equal. By the end of the first episode of ANTM All-Stars , one unlucky lady will pack her Louis Vuitton bags and go back from whence she came — but who will get sent home first? We’re putting our money on either Lisa or Camille. Both these gals are drop- dead gorgeous, but Lisa’s 30 and Camille’s 33. Basically, they’re the model equivalent to dinosaurs. How will they compete with fresh-faced youngsters like Allison and Kayla? Then again, Andre Leon Talley revealed that this season is all about “the celebrity factor,” so age may not matter as much as how many Twitter followers these ladies have!
With America’s Next Top Model All- Stars premiering on the CW next Wednesday, we’re waiting on the edge of our seats for the craziness to kick off. In the meantime, we checked in with All-Star Brittany Brower, who’s returning to Tyra-land after coming in 4th place on Cycle 4. In our exclusive Wetpaint Entertainment interview, Brittany outs this season’s biggest diva, talks about life post-ANTM, and tells us if she’s gotten over that “porn star” problem that bugged Tyra so much last time.
Tyra says she got teary-eyed in every episode. Is there a lot of crying?
There’s definitely a lot of drama. There’s always going to be tear- shedding with girls all together in those kinds of situations. It’s a high- strung kind of thing. There’s every emotion. Laughter, a lot of craziness, like going coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs. I myself, there were not too many tears going down but, yes, there was definitely some crying going on.
What were your emotions when you got the call to come back to ANTM?
When I found out, seriously every single emotion went through my head. I was excited about it. I was terrified about it. I definitely had butterflies and nerves—oh my God! My cycle was back in 2005, so honest to God if you were to ask me a few years ago “Would you ever do Top Model All-Star?” I mean, it’s a lot, it’s crazy, so at first I’ve always been like, “I don’t know, probably not.” I was definitely nervous to get all back into the swing of things and doing the whole Top Model thing. It’s been a long time.
On Cycle 4, Tyra said you were coming across as too sexy. What was the biggest challenge for you this time?
I guess back then I had this thing where Tyra said I looked too much like porn star, and so I had to overcome that. I don’t think that’s really been my thing anymore. I’ve been modeling for a long time since then so I learned how to control that. With the photo shoots I didn’t really feel like I had any major struggles to overcome. You know, we’ve all kind of been doing it a long time now. This season is kind of more about branding, not necessarily about how to take a photo anymore.
In so many ways. I was living in Tallahassee, Florida, before. Afterwards I did Bravo’s Battle of the Network Reality Stars, so I was on a show with every single crazy realty star from all the way back in the Joe Millionaire days. Every Survivor to Big Brother people. I met a lot of people on that show and decided to move out to L.A. After that I got with Next and started working. It was kind of a different life to what I was used to in Tallahassee. I opened a medical spa here in Los Angeles called DMH Aesthetics. Yeah, my life’s come a long way since 2005.
You run a modeling workshop now. Do you see yourself as the next Tyra?
I love doing that. I was actually doing that in Tallahassee before I was even on Top Model with my mother, agent Marsha Doll. So she and I would kind of train and sculpt models into getting the style of the agencies. It’s kind of like a mother/agent. We do runway, we do workshops, we do commercials, we tell you how to slate and how to audition. It’s kind of like a crash-course thing and You run a modeling workshop now. It’s kind of like a crash-course thing and with certain models we help them sign with big agencies. I absolutely love teaching and helping out young people, and heading them in the right direction. I’m all about good body image. We want people to be healthy. We teach you how to be bold with your personality, not with your pant size. We try to put a good look on the modeling world because it can be so ugly.
It’s really such a different energy. When it was the first time we had zero idea what to expect. But it could also be a little more exciting the first time because everything was brand new. You know, “This could really change my life! I could be a huge star after this!” I think all of us kind of know what to expect after this. You have to work for what you get. It’s not just going to be handed to you on a silver platter. I think all of us were a lot more confident coming into the house this time. I myself was not so doe-eyed and starry-eyed when Tyra walks out this time. The first time everyone was like, “Oh my God, it’s Tyra Banks!” Well, we’ve all seen her a million times now and we’re all just kind of like, “Oh, hey, Tyra.” But we were all excited to be there. A lot of us knew each other already from doing other Top Model events and things together. So it was a completely different feel the second time around. This time we all knew what we were in for.
Making the right decision on where to go next. When a show is such a big hit and there’s so much glamour to it and you love it, I think you get addicted to it and you don’t want it to end when you’re there. You get really into it. You do all these amazing photo shoots and meet all these amazing photographers and then once you’ve finished it’s like, “Okay, how do I keep the momentum going? I don’t want my candle to blow out.” That part, just getting back to— Oh! Real life! I think that always gets a lot of us. Because we live the life of a supermodel for the time we shoot and then it’s kind of, all right now you have to keep it going. You have to run with it and see what you can do.
Tyra has a reputation for being a little eccentric. What’s she like off- camera?
Tyra’s great. She’s really nice. She’s busy, she’s passionate about what she does. I have a lot of respect for Tyra. I think she’s, honestly, she’s crazy, she’s eccentric for sure, but she definitely has a real motherly side to her. She has a good heart.
I have not read it yet, but I am going to. I like any kind of weird book. I’m obsessed with all the Harry Potters. I read all the Twilights. I love the supernatural. I’m a huge fan of Vampire Diaries. Anything vampire, anything out of the ordinary, anything weird or different, I’m a huge sucker for. So I think I’ll like it.
My main focus is to become a TV personality, to host. I’ve been working with Fox News. I’m brand new and green but that’s just really my passion. I would love to do one of those home makeover shows—anything with design. I love those kinds of things.
America’s Next Top Model All-Stars is finally upon us and with it comes the first teary elimination of yet another modelstant in Tyra Banks’ wacky world. So, who was sent home on Wednesday’s premiere? Cycle 4’s Brittany Brower was sent home after getting a little too wild during the live elimination. (Future models take note: Just because your name is Brittany it doesn’t mean you have to yell “It’s Britney bitch!” at every opportunity.)Don’t...

Guest Judges, Prizes
for Cycle 17
The cast of America’s Next Top Model: All-Stars
ОтветитьУдалитьmay have leaked some time ago, only
to be confirmed today, but two big
pieces of information were revealed
about what may be the craziest cycle
in the show’s history. The prize package for the show, which

she’s been up to in the video below! America’s Next Top Model will
premiere on Wednesday, September
14 at 9 PM ET on The CW. Will you be
watching?
Heads up, readers: All top models are
ОтветитьУдалитьnot created equal. By the end of the
first episode of ANTM All-Stars , one unlucky lady will pack her Louis
Vuitton bags and go back from
whence she came — but who will get
sent home first? We’re putting our money on either Lisa
or Camille. Both these gals are drop-
dead gorgeous, but Lisa’s 30 and
Camille’s 33. Basically, they’re the
model equivalent to dinosaurs. How
will they compete with fresh-faced youngsters like Allison and Kayla? Then again, Andre Leon Talley
revealed that this season is all about
“the celebrity factor,” so age may not matter as much as how many Twitter
followers these ladies have!
Exclusive! Brittany Brower
ОтветитьУдалитьReveals Who Was the Biggest
Diva on ANTM All-Stars
Who would you say is the biggest diva?
ОтветитьУдалитьThe biggest diva, I would have to say Bianca [Golden]. She was definitely quite the diva. Yeah, that girl’s got
some personality.
With America’s Next Top Model All- Stars premiering on the CW next Wednesday, we’re waiting on the
ОтветитьУдалитьedge of our seats for the craziness to
kick off. In the meantime, we checked
in with All-Star Brittany Brower, who’s returning to Tyra-land after coming in
4th place on Cycle 4. In our exclusive Wetpaint Entertainment interview, Brittany outs this season’s biggest
diva, talks about life post-ANTM, and
tells us if she’s gotten over that “porn
star” problem that bugged Tyra so
much last time.
Who would you say is the biggest diva?
ОтветитьУдалитьThe biggest diva, I would have to say Bianca [Golden]. She was definitely quite the diva. Yeah, that girl’s got
some personality.
Tyra says she got teary-eyed in every episode. Is there a lot of crying?
ОтветитьУдалитьThere’s definitely a lot of drama.
There’s always going to be tear-
shedding with girls all together in
those kinds of situations. It’s a high-
strung kind of thing. There’s every
emotion. Laughter, a lot of craziness, like going coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs. I
myself, there were not too many tears
going down but, yes, there was
definitely some crying going on.
What were your emotions when you got the call to come back to ANTM?
ОтветитьУдалитьWhen I found out, seriously every
single emotion went through my
head. I was excited about it. I was
terrified about it. I definitely had
butterflies and nerves—oh my God!
My cycle was back in 2005, so honest to God if you were to ask me a few
years ago “Would you ever do Top
Model All-Star?” I mean, it’s a lot, it’s
crazy, so at first I’ve always been like,
“I don’t know, probably not.” I was
definitely nervous to get all back into the swing of things and doing the
whole Top Model thing. It’s been a
long time.
On Cycle 4, Tyra said you were coming across as too sexy. What was the biggest challenge for you this time?
ОтветитьУдалитьI guess back then I had this thing
where Tyra said I looked too much
like porn star, and so I had to
overcome that. I don’t think that’s
really been my thing anymore. I’ve
been modeling for a long time since then so I learned how to control that.
With the photo shoots I didn’t really
feel like I had any major struggles to
overcome. You know, we’ve all kind of
been doing it a long time now. This
season is kind of more about branding, not necessarily about how
to take a photo anymore.
How did being on ANTM change your life?
ОтветитьУдалитьIn so many ways. I was living in
Tallahassee, Florida, before.
Afterwards I did Bravo’s Battle of the
Network Reality Stars, so I was on a
show with every single crazy realty
star from all the way back in the Joe Millionaire days. Every Survivor to Big
Brother people. I met a lot of people
on that show and decided to move out
to L.A. After that I got with Next and
started working. It was kind of a
different life to what I was used to in Tallahassee. I opened a medical spa
here in Los Angeles called DMH
Aesthetics. Yeah, my life’s come a long
way since 2005.
You run a modeling workshop now. Do you see yourself as the next Tyra?
ОтветитьУдалитьI love doing that. I was actually doing
that in Tallahassee before I was even
on Top Model with my mother, agent
Marsha Doll. So she and I would kind
of train and sculpt models into getting
the style of the agencies. It’s kind of like a mother/agent. We do runway,
we do workshops, we do
commercials, we tell you how to slate
and how to audition. It’s kind of like a
crash-course thing and You run a modeling workshop now. Do you see yourself as the next Tyra? I love doing that. I was actually doing

crash-course thing and with certain
models we help them sign with big agencies. I absolutely love teaching
and helping out young people, and
heading them in the right direction.
I’m all about good body image. We
want people to be healthy. We teach
you how to be bold with your personality, not with your pant size.
We try to put a good look on the
modeling world because it can be so
ugly.
Was the energy in the house different this time?
ОтветитьУдалитьIt’s really such a different energy.
When it was the first time we had zero
idea what to expect. But it could also
be a little more exciting the first time
because everything was brand new.
You know, “This could really change my life! I could be a huge star after
this!” I think all of us kind of know
what to expect after this. You have to
work for what you get. It’s not just
going to be handed to you on a silver
platter. I think all of us were a lot more confident coming into the house this
time. I myself was not so doe-eyed
and starry-eyed when Tyra walks out
this time. The first time everyone was
like, “Oh my God, it’s Tyra Banks!” Well,
we’ve all seen her a million times now and we’re all just kind of like, “Oh, hey,
Tyra.” But we were all excited to be
there. A lot of us knew each other
already from doing other Top Model
events and things together. So it was a
completely different feel the second time around. This time we all knew
what we were in for.
What is the hardest part of after ANTM?
ОтветитьУдалитьMaking the right decision on where to
go next. When a show is such a big hit
and there’s so much glamour to it and
you love it, I think you get addicted to
it and you don’t want it to end when
you’re there. You get really into it. You do all these amazing photo shoots and
meet all these amazing photographers
and then once you’ve finished it’s like,
“Okay, how do I keep the momentum
going? I don’t want my candle to blow
out.” That part, just getting back to— Oh! Real life! I think that always gets a
lot of us. Because we live the life of a
supermodel for the time we shoot and
then it’s kind of, all right now you
have to keep it going. You have to run
with it and see what you can do.
Tyra has a reputation for being a little eccentric. What’s she like off- camera?
ОтветитьУдалитьTyra’s great. She’s really nice. She’s
busy, she’s passionate about what she
does. I have a lot of respect for Tyra. I
think she’s, honestly, she’s crazy, she’s
eccentric for sure, but she definitely
has a real motherly side to her. She has a good heart.
Have you read Tyra’s book, Modelland?
ОтветитьУдалитьI have not read it yet, but I am going
to. I like any kind of weird book. I’m
obsessed with all the Harry Potters. I
read all the Twilights. I love the
supernatural. I’m a huge fan of
Vampire Diaries. Anything vampire, anything out of the ordinary, anything
weird or different, I’m a huge sucker
for. So I think I’ll like it.
What’s next for you?
ОтветитьУдалитьMy main focus is to become a TV
personality, to host. I’ve been working
with Fox News. I’m brand new and
green but that’s just really my passion.
I would love to do one of those home
makeover shows—anything with design. I love those kinds of things.
