Tyra Banks: "I'm proud of my curves" - AOL Lifes tyle UK September 1, 2011 by So Celebrities
America's Next Top Model host Tyra Banks has said she's proud of her body and is pleased to have gained weight over the years. Tyra Banks, 37, who lost 20lbs back in 2006 after going on a health kick with her Top Model colleagues, has revealed that she's happy to have her curves back. Speaking to Life & Style magazine, she said: 'We all made a pact to do a three- month health-and-fitness challenge. [But] I didn't like myself that small, so I gained back some weight. "I'm proud of my curves and my butt and my bust and my thicker thighs." At 5ft 10, the ex-model admitted that being a super-skinny teenager took its toll on her self-esteem and made her a "little bit reclusive". Tyra said: "At 14, 15-years-old I started to gain a little bit of weight and feel better about myself."
Tyra Banks has fallen victim to the retired model yo-yo diets in the past, but she's finally declaring that her curves are here to stay. Which, don't get us wrong, we're super psyched about because she has never looked fiercer, but we really wish she would embrace that she doesn't have the body-type to pull off rompers. YOU'RE JUST TOO TALL, TYRA. There is simply no way you will not get camel-toe. But we digress. "I'm proud of my curves and my butt and my bust and my thicker thighs," she told Life & Style magazine recently. After some less-than-flattering bikini pics of her surfaced in 2006, the former supermodel took a lot of flack for letting herself go. So, she committed to a three-month health and fitness plan with the rest of her America's Next Top Model mates. Ty-Ty lost an impressive 20 pounds, but, sadly, began suffering from pretty people problems. "I didn't like myself that small, so I gained back some weight," she revealed. Ugh, don't you just hate it when you're too skinny? It's so hard for us, too. We kid. We're glad Tyra has found a weight she's comfortable at, and is capable of rocking out to her full potential. Heed our warning about the rompers, though. Source: Life & Style
